The Pond and The Woods

TOP offers two separate pre-k classes: a three day a week pre-k class, The Pond and a four day a week class, The Woods. The Pond meets Tuesday – Thursday. The Woods meet Monday-Thursday. Students must be four-years-old by August 1st to enroll in either class.

The curriculum of both classes covers the same materials and focuses on kindergarten readiness skills. There are monthly math concepts such as, rote counting, sorting, graphing, etc. We teach letter formation, letter sounds and beginning blending, through fun activities. We also promote phonemic awareness during our pre-reading skills.

Large motor play is a part of everyday. Fine motor skills are worked on during crafts and center activities. The students also experience the Children’s Library, music time and Chapel Time weekly. Chapel Time is every Tuesday morning. Often the church Pastor stops by to give the lesson.
